Runepaw glared at Sandstar and stayed put. "You ran her out, I'm going to go with her. You obviously don't care, now that you have a caracal in the Clan," he spat. Before he lost sight of his beloved Ospreywing, he trotted after her. He looked back and spat again, " She needs someone to take care of her."
With that and not another look back, he trotted after the limping Ospreywing.

"Because you ran her out," snarled Runepaw, still following Ospreywing. "I bet she doesn't want to stay in a Clan with a cat who claims he likes her, yet doesn't do anything for her."
Ospreywing stopped. She turned around and sat down as best as she could with her leg and glared at Runepaw and Sandstar. "Quit fighting over me! Neither of you care! Sandstar, you refused to help me when I needed you! And Runepaw, you..."
Maybe Runepaw didn't do anything to her. He just blushed around her and did everything he could for her. Sandstar was the dangerous one.
"Nevermind, Runepaw. You didn't do anything. I-I guess you can come along. To help."
Ospreywing blushed slighly and glared down the meadow, past Runepaw, to the WindClan leader she couldn't see. "Don't follow me, Sandstar. You've already proven you don't care about me anymore."

I was already going to leave, mouse-brain, the enraged Ospreywing snarled into the confines of her mind.
Just in case Nemesis didn't understand what Sandstar had just said, he clarified with a confirming meow, "He kicked me and Ospreywing out and added you, and two other cats in. Guess I get Ospreywing all to myself." He added a mocking tone at the end, that the love-stricken Runepaw would get Ospreywing and cold Sandstar wouldn't. Goes to show how heartless he was.
Ospreywing hid a blush and thoughts raged in her mind. Sandstar even said he loved me. Guess that was a lie just to get my attention. I don't mean anything to him, was the prominent thought.
Runepaw trotted ahead of Ospreywing, and limping, Ospreywing caught up. Soon, they were out of earshot. Gone from WindClan. Loners.
Runepaw whispered into Ospreywing's ear, "I'll hunt later."
"Okay," the choked reply came.

~ Later That Night: About Moonhigh ~
Sleepily, Ospreywing was roused by Runepaw, who had a very tiny mouse to show for his hours for stalking and failing.
Runepaw must have seen Ospreywing's expression. "I-I'm sorry, I'm not a very good hunter a-and--"
"Shh, Runepaw, it's okay, I understand," cooed Ospreywing.
Runepaw flattened his ears for an instant, then they perked up and a purr rumbled in his chest. "Here you go, then. I'm going back out to hunt for me."
Disaprovingly, Ospreywing picked up the tiny field mouse by the tail. "No. You eat, I wait until morning. Sleep, Runepaw, you haven't, and you won't be able to hunt at all without a clear mind."
"Okay," Runepaw meowed quietly. He eyed the she-cat warily and lay down to sleep.
